THE VIBE
Named after a once-traditional girl’s name, AMRAI is more than just a title — it’s a tribute to local heritage and Montafon roots. Throughout the property, you’ll find echoes of the region’s craft traditions: reclaimed wood, natural stone, and delicate floral motifs inspired by the embroidered patterns of old village costumes.
But AMRAI isn’t stuck in the past. She also knows how to make a statement in the now. Together with AMRAI’s Bruder— her modern counterpart — the duo forms an architectural standout in the peaceful village of Schruns, blending old soul with contemporary elegance.
From the moment you arrive, everyday stress slips quietly away. Check-in is more like being welcomed by a friend — with a drink at the bar and that unmistakable sense of “ahh, I’ve arrived.” Then begins the slow discovery: design-forward interiors, whimsical details, rich materials, and a sense of place that’s both grounding and inspiring.
AMRAI invites you to pause, to slow down, to enjoy life in the moment — whether you’re sipping wine by the fire, letting your thoughts drift with the sound of the nearby river, or floating in warm water with the mountains above. Guests often find themselves planning their return before they’ve even checked out.

THE STAY
The striking architecture of the AMRAI Suites catches your eye from the very first glance. The facade of AMRAI is adorned with delicate floral motifs carved into wooden frames, while AMRAI’s Bruder—the younger sibling building—presents a modern take on traditional Maisäß culture. Inside, the magic continues as glass, stone, wood, and copper blend effortlessly with contemporary furniture and design.
Because AMRAI adores the native Montafoner Steinschaf sheep, the rooms and suites are affectionately called “Schafgemach”—sheep chambers. From cozy doubles to lavish suites, each Schafgemach shares a love for high-quality craftsmanship, local reclaimed materials, and decorative touches inspired by the embroidered floral patterns of traditional mountain costumes. And of course, the beloved Steinschaf makes its presence felt in the form of rugs, fabrics, and fluffy nods to this endangered breed. Meanwhile, rooms in AMRAI’s Bruder take a subtler approach with muted tones, light wood, dark stone, and accents inspired by historic Montafoner attire.
Each room category differs in size and extras, ranging from wood-burning stoves and private saunas to dreamy freestanding panoramic bathtubs, infrared cabins, heated waterbeds, and even private outdoor pools—truly fulfilling every spa fantasy you might imagine. Even the smallest Schafgemach invites cozy dreams, but who wouldn’t be enchanted by a room with its own private pool, whirlpool, or a spring-fed bath?
Some rooms and suites come with a hidden kitchenette that unfolds like a secret treasure—open the doors, and suddenly you’re in a fully equipped luxury self-catering apartment. Imagine starting your day with coffee in bed while the morning sun peeks over the mountain peaks and the gentle babble of the Litz river drifts in from the terrace. Pure bliss.
Choosing which Schafgemach to call your own might just be the toughest decision of your stay...
When it’s time to unwind, AMRAI’s Stólla and Maisäß Spa whisk you away into realms of relaxation and wellbeing. Stólla is a tribute to the region’s mining heritage—here, the copper ceiling arches gracefully over the pool, blending into stone to create a mysteriously calming vibe. Beyond the pool, the Kupfr-Stoba and Schwitz-Stoba saunas beckon, followed by a refreshing mist from the Montafoner Eisnebel before you warm up again in the Warmbad or sink into plush lounge pods.
Upstairs, in the adults-only Maisäß Spa atop AMRAI’s Bruder, you’ll find tranquil havens like the Bienaschtock with its floating loungers and the Heubóda, featuring cozy nooks lined with fragrant hay walls. Heat up in the Gipfl-Stoba or Krüter-Stoba saunas, each offering breathtaking views of the Montafon mountains. The crown jewel? The Gipfelsee—an overhanging, blissfully warm infinity pool that brings you face-to-face with the peaks. On warm summer days, head next door to the Maisäß Mahd, a green rooftop garden dotted with inviting spots perfect for reading, relaxing, or sneaking in a nap.

THE FOOD
“Guata Margat,” as they say in the Montafon—a warm welcome to start your day. Mornings kick off with the Montafoner Schafmützen breakfast, a generous spread featuring local sausages and cheeses, freshly squeezed juices, specialty coffees and teas, made-to-order egg dishes, homemade jams, and fresh milk straight from the farm. And the best part? It’s served until 11 am, so even the slowest risers can savor a relaxed start.
The kitchen doesn’t take a break once the sun is high, either. You can always grab a cup of coffee on the cool, shaded Litz terrace or cozy up in the lounge. In the afternoon, the Nachmittagsjause offers a carefully curated selection from the daily menu, plus tempting cakes and sometimes a scoop of ice cream. But don’t fill up too much just yet—because the real culinary magic happens at dinner.
Come evening, AMRAI invites you to settle into one of its charming “Stoba” dining rooms. Surrounded by warm spruce wood, the Holz-Stoba tempts you with modern twists on traditional Montafon cuisine. Or choose the Grüne Stoba, where you dine immersed in greenery with views of the Litz river. For a touch of romance, the Blumenstoba enchants with a ceiling draped in a cascade of blossoms. No matter your pick, you’re in for a treat—AMRAI’s kitchen crafts dishes inspired by local heritage, elevated with fresh ingredients from nearby producers.
If grilled delights are calling your name, head to the à la carte Kupfrgrill. In a stylish setting with an open kitchen, you can watch the grill master work their magic, searing tender fillets over an open flame while you toast the day with a perfectly mixed cocktail.
Speaking of drinks—whether before or after dinner, the lobby bar beckons. Curl up by the fire with a carefully crafted cocktail, unwind as the day fades away, or start plotting your next mountain adventure.

THE ADVENTURE
We already know and love Montafon in winter—but come summer, this region transforms into a genuine paradise for families, nature lovers, and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
For families, the Erlebnisberg Golm is a treasure trove of fun: the Forscherpfad (Explorer’s Trail) invites little adventurers to discover nature up close, while the 2.6-kilometer summer toboggan run, the thrilling forest slide park, and plenty of other play spots keep kids entertained and make hiking a blast for even the youngest explorers. Another family favorite is the Abenteuerberg Hochjoch, where interactive play stations spark curiosity and fun.
A highly recommended hike leads from the Hochjoch mountain station along the educational Naturkräftepfad (Nature Forces Trail) to the charming Alpe Innerkapell, before looping back to the start—offering stunning scenery and a bit of learning along the way.
No visit, summer or winter, is complete without a trip to the Bielerhöhe on the Silvretta High Alpine Road. The drive itself is breathtaking, and once you arrive at the Silvretta reservoir, you can dive into hiking, mountaineering, or simply soak in the serene mountain vibes.
Whether it’s skiing down powdery slopes, snowshoeing through pristine winter landscapes, or gliding on two blades back to the valley—the Montafon mountains offer countless ways to explore in the colder months. Skipasses can conveniently be purchased right at the hotel reception.
But no matter the season you visit the AMRAI Suites, one thing’s for sure: AMRAI loves sharing her favorite hidden gems away from the usual tourist trails—and with so many secrets to discover, one holiday is never quite enough.
