Vreni and Thaddäus, your hosts, have created a retreat that reflects their own vision of the perfect getaway: elegant yet easy-going, private yet welcoming, refined but never stiff. A place with character, charm and an unbeatable view over the rooftops of Oberstdorf.

Mornings start slowly – with fresh coffee and a swing in the hanging chair on your balcony. After a day on the trails, the sauna soothes tired legs, and the heated infinity pool is just what you need to float your thoughts away. Evenings bring golden light, a glass of wine, and the gentle hush of the mountains settling in for the night.

And yes, the apartments are just as beautiful as you’re imagining. Traditional Allgäu style meets clean-lined design. Think high ceilings, open-plan layouts and panoramic windows that bring the mountains right into your living room. The split-level design adds a sense of flow and freedom, while each apartment – Waidmannsheil, Hirschsprung, Halali and Edelwild – offers between 100 and 150 m² of space to fully exhale.

Inside, expect everything: natural materials, designer furniture, a fully equipped kitchen with top appliances, fireplace, balcony or terrace with lounge chairs and hanging seats – and your very own private spa with a freestanding tub, sauna and outdoor chill space.

And outside? Nature shows off daily. In the morning, deer might wander past the window. And if you’re up early enough to catch sunrise from the infinity pool, you’ll feel like you’re floating between worlds. When the first light spills over the ridgeline, the only thing you’ll regret is not setting the alarm a little earlier.

Jägersberg’s four apartments are self-catering – but that doesn’t mean you’ll be left to fend for yourself. Book the "filled fridge" service when reserving, and you’ll arrive to find local goodies already waiting: fresh bread, butter, yoghurt and eggs, mountain cheese and sausage, homemade jam, honey, juice, fruit and more.

There’s a top-quality coffee machine (beans included), plus the option to have fresh bread delivered to your door each morning thanks to Semmeldienst Allgäu.

For dinner, the kitchen invites you to cook together – with a view, of course. But if you'd rather be cooked for, there’s no shortage of cosy, quality restaurants nearby. We recommend a short drive to Alpe Dornach: a secluded spot with both traditional Allgäu dishes and modern Alpine cuisine – all served in a gorgeous green setting.

And for the wine lovers: there’s a hand-picked selection in the in-house wine rack, plus cold drinks and regional beers ready in the fridge. Cheers to that.

Summer is made for hiking, biking and exploring – with the peaks of the Allgäu Alps right outside your window. The Nebelhorn, Gaisalphorn and Rubihorn are not just names on a map – you can spot them from your balcony. A ride up the Nebelhorn cable car takes you to over 2,200m and reveals the jaw-dropping “400 peak panorama” across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

For a gentler day, try the hike from Höfatsblick station to Seealpsee – a turquoise alpine lake reached via meadows and forest paths. If you’re brave, take a dip! The water is freezing, but the memory will be golden.

Other must-dos: the spectacular Breitachklamm gorge, a scenic 1.5km walk along wooden paths and roaring waters. Or head to Freibergsee, the highest natural swimming lake in the Allgäu – with views of the world-famous Heini-Klopfer ski jump.

And in winter? You’re right in the middle of it all. Ski slopes and cross-country trails are nearby, snowshoe tours await, and major events like the Four Hills Tournament or the Ski Flying World Cup are just around the corner.
